Text Box: Here is the famous Round Tower of Kells .... which was erected around 807 - 810 AD ... when the monastery was founded.


Text Box: Kells - noted for the Book of Kells.  This is one of five  9th century high crosses still surviving in Kells.  This particular one was used for hanging people after the 1798 rebellion
