Hotel in the shape of a Croc.

How cool is THAT ?

Frilled Lizard .... looks like one of the creatures in the

Jurassic Park movie, doesn't it ?

Uh-huh !!  .... and this is why the name of the place is called  "Alligator River"

Bee Eaters .... you can see the one on the left is munching on a bee

We arrived at this camp-site ... where one of the guides gave us a "hands-on" experience in the uses of 12 different kinds of Aboriginal weaponry.

They came to the conclusion , that in a pinch ...... I'd either starve to death or get killed.

There were all sorts of animals & plants that we encountered on this walk ... that we didn't have a chance to see on the River Cruise.

Aboriginal people have lived near the caves for 20,000 years

We visited each of the 6 caves.   ( don't worry .. you don't have to look at paintings from ALL of them )

Okay ... now into another cave.   We've never spent so much time climbing rocks & crawling around on all fours, during any other trip so far.

Have to admit though  .... it was kinda fun ... and brought out the latent archeologist in each of us.

Still upward we went ... heading toward the point on the map known as  "Namarrkan Sisters"

Heading toward the top peak ... "Nadab  Lookout"

Roy... who has some trouble with

heights.. says "NUTS !!" & stays put.

Yours truly... on the other hand... "good sense"

portion of the brain gone missing ... heads on up.

It became clearer every day , that the "shimmying" around that we did at the Bradshaw Caves ( at the beginning of the trip ) ..... was just a "warm-up" so we wouldn't revolt when we got here.

We had a family of Wallabies following us while we climbed up to

the various caves.  They never came in.. but waited outside.

What's that old phrase ...."Never Say Die" ?   ....or is it

"Be Careful What You Wish For " ?    Yep ... climbed up HERE too.
