This was the first time since the trip began,

that the kids were exposed to a TV.

Have to give them all credit though .....

( much to the surprise of all of the adults ) .... most of the time they could be found  in the pool - in the ocean -  or at the pool table.

Deirdre was particularly fond of the  "swim-up  bar"  in the pool.

At  low tide .... you can walk to the end of that long concrete walk-way.

It ends in a coral & urchin free section of the ocean  .... perfect for snorkeling.

Remember the "survival camp" parents  ?  ( by the way ... the guy used to be called in to train Navy Seals )

Well ... the guy taught Deirdre the  "safe" way to pick up Sea Urchins ... and how to catch Sand Crabs with your bare hands.

In the Lobby

The kids weren't in the hotel 20 mins.  before they made use of the pool

With an antique cradle in the lobby.

Location - Location - Location !!!

The back of the hotel ... facing the ocean.

We had a visit to a  "Palm Plantation"  & they showed how to make baskets, etc. from the palm leaves.

Our girls have speculated on why their dad and mom ever got together in the first place .... because  "You two have such different personalities ".

HAH !! .... I don't  THINK  so .

THIS  is right across the street from the main entrance to the hotel.

Unbelievable  contrast,  isn't  it ?

And this shot was taken from the hotel beach.

This was the  Slave Market  building.

The basement level of the Slave Market building was honeycombed with sections like this.  Each of these small sections was occupied by 50 slaves.

Well ....... you never know when you might need your hair cut while your trousers are being repaired.
